About
How AskPink answers you
AskPink is an information assistant. It searches official texts and explains what they say, rather than answering health questions from its own knowledge.
How an answer is produced
You ask your question
In your own words, as you would ask someone you trust.
AskPink searches the sources
It finds relevant passages in official pages it is authorised to use.
It writes from those passages
The answer draws on the texts without changing their meaning or adding facts from memory.
Each citation is checked
A number is shown only if it points to a passage that was consulted. You can read it and open the original page.
What AskPink does
- Explain organised screening and its stages
- Explain a term or an examination
- Show the source and its update date
- Help you find the right contact
What AskPink does not do
- Diagnose or assess a symptom
- Interpret examination results
- Recommend or compare treatments
- Replace a consultation
Our sources
AskPink uses public pages from four organisations under their reuse permissions. Here is the complete list of pages consulted.
The models we use
AskPink uses OpenRouter to route requests to the providers running the models. Answers are written with DeepSeek V4.1 Flash and undergo documentary checks. The identifiers below reflect the site’s current configuration.
Understanding and writing
DeepSeek analyses the question, prepares an answer using official passages and selects the supporting evidence.

OpenAI’s GPT-6 Luna performs an additional documentary check. This check does not constitute medical validation.

Your questions stay yours
- AskPink does not record the contents of your questions or its answers.
- Your conversation and notes stay in your browser tab, rather than on our servers, and disappear when you close it.
- To prepare and check an answer, your question, relevant conversation history and the necessary passages are sent through OpenRouter to the model providers.
- Every call enforces zero data retention (ZDR) routing and excludes providers that allow message retention or use for training. These controls apply to message content.
- OpenRouter states that it does not store question and answer content by default, unless content logging or use options are enabled on the account. It retains technical metadata such as the model, token counts, request duration and cost.
- AskPink also logs technical duration, usage and cost metrics without the text of your messages. OpenRouter’s general policy does not specify one fixed retention period for its metadata.
- To prevent abuse, AskPink temporarily stores a cryptographic fingerprint of your IP address, never the address itself. Expired counters may remain until a later cleanup.
- Please avoid including your name or information that could identify you.
Its limitations
AskPink may make a mistake or fail to find an existing passage. Each answer therefore shows its sources: when in doubt, the official page takes precedence, and your doctor remains your best point of contact.
The project
AskPink is a free volunteer project with no advertising, created for Breast Cancer Awareness Month to make official screening information easier to access.
